Schools

Government schools

Public sector schools are for Caymanian children only (and space permitting, children of expatriates employed by the government). Students must be registered with the Department of Education Services and you will need to present a copy of the child’s birth certificate and documentation showing their residency category.  A full list of government schools is available here.

Non-Caymanian children are required to attend private schools – see full list below.

Pre-schools

There are many different options for children under 5 in Cayman.  The pre-schools listed here follow a traditional academic year, with breaks for school holidays, and students do not nap during school hours.  For playschools, nurseries and daycare, please see our Childcare page (some of these facilities may also offer pre-school learning for older children in their care).  Whatever you choose, we recommend that you register early as spaces fill up quickly.
